Oswal Solar Energy Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Oswal Pumps Limited, has secured an order worth approximately Rs 39.40 crore (including GST) for the installation of 7.46 MWp of grid-connected rooftop solar plants in Andhra Pradesh.
The contract has been awarded by M/s Swashakthi Energy for the installation of solar systems for 3,729 Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) consumers under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. The development was disclosed in a regulatory filing.
The scope of work includes design, engineering, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the rooftop solar systems, along with a five-year comprehensive maintenance contract. The installations will be carried out in the Pulivendula and Puttaparthy divisions under Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (APSPDCL).
M/s Swashakthi Energy had earlier been awarded the 7.46 MWp project by New & Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Ltd. (NREDCAP) under the central government’s solar scheme.
In a press release dated March 2, 2026, the company stated that the order marks its entry into the rooftop solar segment and provides an opportunity to participate in the PM Surya Ghar initiative.
Vivek Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director of Oswal Pumps Limited, said the order comes at a time when the Union Budget has increased the allocation for the scheme from Rs 17,000 crore to Rs 22,000 crore. He added that the company’s experience in implementing public sector renewable energy programmes supports its expansion in the rooftop solar segment.
The company clarified that the contract has been awarded by a domestic entity. It also stated that its promoters, promoter group and group companies do not have any interest in M/s Swashakthi Energy. The transaction is not classified as a related party transaction.
