ADM Solar Power has signed a 10 MW Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Avener Green Pvt. Ltd. under an Open Access Captive model. The agreement is for supplying renewable power to ADM’s solar module and cell manufacturing facility in Aligarh.
Under the arrangement, electricity generated from a dedicated captive solar power plant will be used to meet the energy requirements of ADM’s manufacturing operations. The company stated that the move is intended to reduce dependence on conventional grid power, ensure long term price stability, and improve cost efficiency, while securing a reliable supply of clean energy for production.
Avener Green will be responsible for developing the captive solar plant and ensuring long term power supply in line with regulatory and performance requirements. The developer focuses on utility scale and open access solar projects. ADM noted that the agreement supports its sustainability objectives and reflects its position as both a manufacturer and consumer of renewable energy.
The shift to captive renewable power also aligns with national initiatives such as Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat, which encourage sustainable domestic manufacturing. By using solar power for its operations, ADM aims to reduce its carbon footprint and strengthen sustainability practices within the solar manufacturing sector.
