Shakti Pumps (India) Limited has announced an investment of Rs 3 crore in its wholly owned subsidiary, Shakti Energy Solutions Limited.
The investment will be used to establish a greenfield manufacturing facility for high-efficiency Solar Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) cells and Solar Photovoltaic (PV) modules in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh. The proposed plant is planned with a manufacturing capacity of 2.20 GW.
This move represents a major expansion of Shakti Pump’s operations, which currently include the manufacturing of solar structures and rooftop solar solutions. The new facility is a core component of Shakti Pumps’ broader Rs 17,000 million capital expenditure program, which also includes doubling its core pump and motor manufacturing capacity to 1 million units per annum by June 2026.
The foray into solar PV manufacturing is expected to support this growth trajectory by catering to both internal demand and the broader market, further solidifying its position in India’s renewable energy sector.
Shakti Pumps has successfully capitalised on government schemes and the push for agricultural solarisation, transitioning from a medium-scale pump manufacturer to a vertically integrated renewable energy solutions leader.
