BC Jindal Group has signed a power purchase agreement with SECI for 150 MW of RTC renewable energy at a tariff of Rs 5.07 per kWh. The capacity was awarded under SECI’s 1,200 MW RTC tender issued in November 2024.
The agreement requires BC Jindal to set up ISTS-connected renewable projects that combine solar, wind, and battery storage. The work includes identifying land, developing the facilities, and linking them to the ISTS network to supply power to the distribution companies contracted through SECI.
The project is scheduled for commissioning within 24 months from the date of signing, subject to the availability of the substation.
BC Jindal Group was founded in 1952 by Shri B.C. Jindal. The conglomerate has operations across India, the USA, and Europe. It employs more than 10,000 people and has a portfolio that spans flexible packaging films, energy generation, and downstream steel products. Â
Earlier this year, the company announced plans to invest Rs 150 billion by 2030 to enter the renewable energy component manufacturing space, setting its sights on solar and battery storage as part of its green energy roadmap.
