TARIL wins Rs 390 crore transformer order from GETCO

Author: PPD Team Date: November 27, 2025

Transformers and Rectifiers India Limited has received a new order worth Rs 389.97 crore from Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Limited. The company reported the development in a filing to the BSE and NSE.

The contract covers the manufacture and supply of 53 transformers of different specifications. TARIL said all units are planned for delivery by the next financial year.

This award increases the company’s total order inflow from GETCO in the current quarter to about Rs 493.42 crore. TARIL said the order is part of its regular business activity and is not a related party transaction.

This commercial success comes on the heels of a critical resolution in a recent regulatory challenge. As previously reported by Power Peak Digest, TARIL was briefly listed as ineligible for World Bank-funded projects in early November concerning a completed supply contract in Nigeria. The company has now confirmed that its name has been removed from the World Bank’s debarment list as of November 14, 2025. The World Bank has granted TARIL time until January 12, 2026, to file a detailed response in the matter (Sanctions Case No. 788), which pertained to the transport damage of three transformers from a $24.74 million Nigeria project delivered in FY22.
