Adani Energy Solutions Limited has received a Letter of Intent from PFC Consulting for the project titled “Transmission System for Evacuation of Power from potential renewable energy zone in Khavda area of Gujarat under Phase-V (8GW): Part C.” The award came through Tariff Based Competitive Bidding and supports the evacuation plan for the Khavda renewable energy zone under Phase V.

The project involves establishing a 2500 MW, ±500 kV HVDC transmission system between KPS3 (near Khavda) and South Olpad. This infrastructure is designed to facilitate the evacuation of 2.5 GW of renewable energy and forms part of the larger Phase-V scheme, which aims to enable the evacuation of an additional 8 GW of renewable power from the Khavda Renewable Energy Park.

The scope includes two HVDC terminal stations rated at 2500 MW each, a ±500 kV bipole line with Dedicated Metallic Return, and a 400 kV double circuit line. It also includes 400 kV interconnections between the HVDC and HVAC switchyards.

The KPS3 substation will house 2×125 MVAR, 420 kV bus reactors and 400 or 33 kV transformers for auxiliary supply. The scheme uses Voltage Source Converter-based HVDC technology with full power reversal, black start capability, automatic grid restoration, and dynamic reactive power support. The rated capacity is 2500 MW at ±500 kV DC.

The scheduled commercial operation date is 48 months from the transfer of the special purpose vehicle. The LOI remains subject to standard conditions and the signing of final agreements. AESL has notified both BSE and NSE in line with SEBI Listing Regulations.
