JSW Energy commissions 85 MW of new renewable capacity

JSW Energy Limited has announced the successful commissioning of 85 MW of new renewable capacity, comprising 74 MW of solar projects, including a portion of the NHPC Hybrid Project, and 11 MW of wind capacity. With this addition, the company’s total installed capacity has reached 13,295 MW.

Renewable energy now accounts for 57% of JSW Energy’s total capacity. This includes 3,720 MW of wind, 2,286 MW of solar, and 1,631 MW of hydro capacity.

The company’s total locked-in generation capacity stands at 30.5 GW, which includes 13.3 GW operational and 12.5 GW under construction across thermal and renewable segments, along with 150 MW of hydro capacity under acquisition and a 4.6 GW development pipeline. JSW Energy also holds 29.4 GWh of locked-in energy storage capacity, comprising 26.4 GWh of hydro pumped storage and 3.0 GWh of battery storage systems.

JSW Energy targets 30 GW of generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by FY 2030, with the long-term goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
