The Hinduja Group has committed to invest Rs 20,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh in multiple phases after discussions with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in London. The investment will focus on expanding power generation, renewable energy capacity, and electric vehicle manufacturing in the state.

Naidu met Ashok Hinduja, Chairman of Hinduja Group India; Prakash Hinduja, Chairman of Hinduja Group Europe; and Shom Hinduja, Founder of Hinduja Renewables, to explore opportunities in energy and transport. The agreement formalizes the group’s plan to scale up its presence in Andhra Pradesh over the coming years.

Under the pact, Hinduja Group will add 1,600 MW to its Visakhapatnam power plant and develop solar and wind projects across the Rayalaseema region. It will also set up a manufacturing unit for electric buses and light commercial vehicles at Mallavalli in Krishna district, aimed at strengthening the state’s EV supply ecosystem.

The group and the state government will jointly establish a network of EV charging stations to support cleaner transport. Naidu said the partnership highlights Andhra Pradesh’s position as a growing hub for renewable energy and sustainable industry.
