Shree Cement commissions 20 MWp solar plant in Uttar Pradesh

Shree Cement has commissioned a 20 MWp solar power plant in Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh, to supply electricity to its Etah grinding unit. Phase 1 has achieved commercial operation after approval from the Uttar Pradesh State Load Dispatch Centre. Phase 2 will be completed by Q4 FY2025–26. The project will offset about 22,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually and has created 30–40 local jobs. With this addition, Shree Cement’s total solar capacity has reached 313.5 MWp across India.

Dalmia Bharat invests Rs 78 million in solar power SPVs in Tamil Nadu

Dalmia Bharat has announced investments of Rs 78 million in three Tamil Nadu-based solar power SPVs to expand renewable capacity. Through its subsidiaries, Dalmia Cement (Bharat) and Dalmia Bharat Green Vision, the company will acquire minority stakes in projects developing up to 46 MW of solar capacity. The deals are expected to close within three months and support Dalmia Bharat’s RE100 target by 2030 and carbon-negative goal by 2040.

Vikran Engineering wins contract for 100 MW solar project

Vikran Engineering has received a turnkey EPC contract worth Rs 3.54 billion from Ellume Energy MH SolarOne for a 100 MW AC (120 MW DC) solar project in Maharashtra. The contract includes design, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning. Chairman and Managing Director Rakesh Markhedkar said the order underscores the company’s growing capacity to deliver large renewable projects.

GIPCL commissions additional 105 MW at Khavda solar project

Gujarat Industries Power Company Limited has commissioned an additional 105 MW at its Khavda solar project in the Great Rann of Kutch. The site’s operational capacity now totals 315 MW toward a 600 MW target. The expansion marks the third phase of the project and reflects GIPCL’s phased approach to scaling its renewable portfolio.

Ayana Renewable commissions 9.9 MW wind project in Gujarat

Ayana Renewable Power Four, a subsidiary of ONGC NTPC Green, has commissioned 9.9 MW of wind capacity at Bhuj, Gujarat. The project is part of a larger 92.4 MW installation. NTPC Green Energy Limited’s total operational capacity has increased from 7,553.675 MW to 7,563.575 MW following this addition.

Viviana Power wins LoI for 200 MWh BESS project in Rajasthan

Viviana Power Tech has received a letter of intent from Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited to develop a 100 MW/200 MWh standalone battery energy storage system in Jodhpur and Bhopalgarh. The Rs 3.02 billion project will operate under a build-own-operate model with VGF support of Rs 360 million. It aims to strengthen grid reliability and renewable integration. Separately, the company has won a supply order from Adani Green Energy for a 400 kV transmission line in Gujarat.

Germany demolishes cooling towers of Gundremmingen nuclear plant

RWE has demolished two cooling towers at the Gundremmingen nuclear power plant in Bavaria as part of decommissioning activities. The operation used 600 kilograms of explosives in 1,800 boreholes, generating 56,000 tonnes of debris for recycling. The plant’s reactors were shut down in 2017 and 2021, and dismantling work by Westinghouse is expected to conclude by 2030.
