Serentica Renewables has signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with MRF Limited to supply clean energy under a captive power arrangement. The electricity will come from a 170 MW wind-solar hybrid project currently under development by Serentica.
Power from the project will be delivered to MRF’s manufacturing facilities across India via the inter-state transmission system. A special-purpose vehicle (SPV) has been set up for this purpose, with MRF holding a minority stake and Serentica holding the remaining share.
Akshay Hiranandani, CEO of Serentica Renewables, said the partnership supports India’s industrial decarbonisation efforts. He added that integrating renewable energy with hybrid and storage solutions will provide reliable power to help industries like MRF transition to a sustainable future.
