The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has added a second draw point at the Muradnagar receiving substation to expand its electricity procurement through Power Exchange India Limited. The move is part of its arrangement with PTC India Limited to buy power through exchanges for the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS).
The existing Ghaziabad draw point is expected to save over Rs 30 million annually, with a similar reduction anticipated from the Muradnagar addition.
The initiative is being implemented with Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation Limited (UPPTCL), under a connectivity agreement signed between the two entities.
Around 15 per cent of the total electricity procured through the exchange is expected to come from renewable sources each year, including from the green day-ahead market.
