Premier Energies secures $19.95 million solar project in West Africa

Premier Energies Limited has won contracts worth $19.95 million for the supply and installation of solar power systems in the Republic of Benin, West Africa.

The order covers 750 rooftop solar systems to be deployed at district police stations, schools, health centres, and border surveillance units. It also includes the installation of more than 4,400 solar streetlights and 650 solar water heaters.

The initiative is part of Benin’s national programme to expand access to reliable and sustainable energy. Premier Energies will work with the General Directorate of Energy Planning and Rural Electrification, under the Ministry of Energy, Water and Mines.

The project will be financed through a Line of Credit from the Export-Import Bank of India (EXIM Bank) and the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID).

Premier Energies’ Managing Director and CEO, Chiranjeev Saluja, said the order reflects the company’s execution capability and competitiveness in global markets.
