JSW Energy Limited has added 317 megawatts (MW) of renewable capacity in August 2025, raising its total installed capacity to 13,097 MW.
The new capacity includes 240 MW from the Kutehr hydro project, 43 MW of wind power, and 34 MW of solar installations. With this addition, renewable energy accounts for 57 percent of the company’s portfolio, comprising 3,617 MW of wind, 2,192 MW of solar, and 1,631 MW of hydro.
According to the company, the capacity addition comes ahead of the peak renewable generation season and is expected to support higher output.
JSW Energy’s overall portfolio includes 30.3 gigawatts (GW) of locked-in generation capacity, with 13.1 GW operational, 12.7 GW under construction across thermal and renewable projects, and a pipeline of 4.6 GW. The company has also secured 29.4 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of storage capacity, including 26.4 GWh of hydro pumped storage and 3.0 GWh of battery storage.
The company has set a target of 30 GW of generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by the financial year 2030, and aims for carbon neutrality by 2050.
