AMPIN Energy Transition has commissioned a 50 MWp solar open access plant in Gatapar village, Bemetara district, marking its first project in Chhattisgarh and the company’s debut in the Eastern region. The plant will supply power to Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd.
According to AMPIN, the project was completed in nine months and highlights the role of Chhattisgarh’s Green Energy Open Access (GEOA) policy in attracting investment. The plant is expected to generate about 78.21 million units of electricity annually, reducing around 64,132 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year.
The company stated that this reduction is equivalent to planting 3.05 million trees, removing 13,942 cars from the road, or meeting the power needs of about 65,175 households. Texmaco Rail & Engineering will be able to replace more than 80 percent of its grid power with renewable energy, which could lower costs by 30 to 40 percent compared to current discom tariffs.
AMPIN is also building another 21 MWp project in the state and has 100 MWp of additional capacity under development.
