Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power, has completed a 431 megawatt peak (MWp) direct current solar power project in Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh.

Built over 2,000 acres, the project uses 765,408 bifacial glass-to-glass modules mounted on single-axis solar trackers. The system’s DC capacity is 431 MWp with an alternating current output of 330 MW.

The project was delivered under TPREL’s “Solutions for Power Producer” model and completed in 17 months. It is expected to produce around 90 million units of electricity annually, enough to meet nearly 95 per cent of Indore’s power demand.

The plant will supply power to the Western Central Railways and the Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Ltd (MPPMCL). It is projected to offset 7.8 lakh tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions per year.
