NHPC starts commercial ops for 53.57 MW solar in Bikaner

NHPC Limited began commercial operations of 53.57 MW on June 7, 2025, under its 1,000 MW grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) power project in Bikaner, Rajasthan.
The commissioned capacity is part of a 300 MW plant being developed by Tata Power Solar Systems Limited at Karnisar-Bhatiyan in Bikaner. So far, 160.71 MW of capacity has been commissioned.
Under the scheme, usage charges are capped at Rs 2.45 per kWh, as mutually agreed between NHPC and the procuring government body.
With this milestone, the total commissioned capacity of the project has reached 160.71 MW. The company stated in a regulatory filing that the commercial operation date (COD) of the remaining capacity will be announced in due course.
NHPC’s shares rose by 2.62 percent to Rs 91.63 at 9:50 am following the announcement.
