The Government of Andhra Pradesh laid the foundation stone on May 16, 2025, for a 2,800 MWp wind-solar hybrid power project integrated with a 2,000 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Anantapur district. The project is being developed by ReNew Power Ventures Private Limited.

The hybrid project will be executed in two phases:

  • Phase I includes 587 MWp of solar, 250 MW of wind, and a 415 MWh BESS system.
  • Phase II will add 1,213 MWp of solar, 750 MW of wind, and a 1,585 MWh BESS system.

Additionally, a 100 km extra-high voltage (EHV) transmission line will be set up to evacuate power from the site.

Located at Bettapalli in Guthi mandal, the project spans 2,300 acres. It involves developing 1,800 MWp of solar capacity, 1,000 MW of wind capacity, and a 2,000 MWh BESS. The estimated project cost is Rs 220 billion.
