PFCCL transfers SPV for Kurnool-III transmission project

PFC Consulting Limited (PFCCL) has transferred Kurnool III PS RE Transmission Limited, a special purpose vehicle (SPV), to Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) for strengthening the transmission system at Kurnool-III PS. The transfer took place on March 27, 2025.
POWERGRID received the Letter of Intent (LoI) for the project on March 6, 2025. The project was awarded through Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) and will be executed on a build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) basis.
The project, which costs Rs 28.86 billion, will facilitate the integration and evacuation of over 4.5 GW of additional renewable energy capacity. It involves expanding transmission infrastructure, including the development of 400 kV line bays, augmentation of transformation capacity, and construction of a 765 kV double circuit (D/c) transmission line from Kurnool-III to Chilakaluripeta. PFCCL acted as the project’s Bid Process Coordinator (BPC).
