PGCIL acquires two SPVs for transmission projects in Karnataka and Rajasthan

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) has acquired two special purpose vehicles (SPVs) to implement key transmission projects in Karnataka and Rajasthan.
The two SPVs are:
The acquisition, completed on March 21, 2025, aims to strengthen the integration of renewable energy zones and enhance power evacuation capacity.
The selection of the transmission service provider (TSP) for these projects was managed by PFC Consulting Limited (PFCCL), which acted as the bid process coordinator. On February 17, 2025, PGCIL received the Letter of Intent (LoI) for both projects under the Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer (BOOT) model.
