The Government of Karnataka (GoK) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Paschim Renewables Private Limited (PRPL) to develop a 30 MW solar power project in Raichur district.
The project, expected to be completed in 2025, will require an investment of around Rs 1.5 billion and is projected to generate approximately 45 million units of electricity annually.
Paschim Group is working toward building a clean energy platform in India and has a portfolio that includes hydro, rooftop solar, and ground-mounted solar projects. The company has hydro projects in Sakleshpur, Karnataka, with PHEPL 1 having a capacity of 9 MW and NHEPL 2 having a capacity of 15 MW. In Arunachal Pradesh, it is developing the 200 MW Yamne hydro project, which is currently in the pipeline.
In the rooftop solar segment, the company operates a 1 MW project in Annaram, Telangana; a 0.5 MW project in Satara, Maharashtra; a 0.58 MW project in Mysore, Karnataka; a 0.5 MW project in Vizag, Andhra Pradesh; and a 102 kW project in Daman. In the ground-mounted solar category, it is working on a 7 MW project in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, which is currently in progress.
