Neoenergia, Iberdrola’s Brazilian subsidiary, has sold its 70% stake in the Baixo Iguaçu Hydroelectric Power Plant to EDF and STOA for 1,430 million Brazilian reals (approximately €240 million). Located in Paraná, the plant has an installed capacity of 350 MW and assured energy of 172 MWm.
This transaction supports Iberdrola’s asset rotation strategy, focusing on optimizing its portfolio, creating value, maintaining capital discipline, and simplifying its structure.
Neoenergia operates across the full energy value chain, including distribution, transportation, and generation of both conventional and renewable energy. Its portfolio includes five hydroelectric plants, 44 wind farms, and two solar power plants.
