DVC, HPPC sign PPA for 800 MW power from three thermal projects

Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) and Haryana Power Purchase Centre (HPPC) signed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to supply 800 MW of power from 2028-29 through three thermal power projects (TPPs) in Haryana on January 29, 2025.
The bifurcated quantity to be supplied from projects are –
300 MW from Raghunathpur Power Project Phase II: The project involves Phase II expansion of the Raghunathpur Thermal Power Plant in the state of West Bengal by addition of 2 units of 660 MW each at an investment of Rs 115.54 billion.
300 MW from 2×800 MW Koderma Thermal Power Expansion Project: DVC is planning the brownfield expansion under Units III and IV of the existing 1,000 MW project in the Gumla district of Jharkhand. Unit 1 (500 MW) of the project was commissioned in July 2011 and Unit 2 (500 MW) was commissioned in February 2013.
200 MW from 800 MW Durgapur Thermal Power Expansion Project: The project is being implemented by DVC in the Bardhaman district of West Bengal state. It is an expansion of the Durgapur Steel Thermal Power Project which comprises Units 1 of 2 2×75 MW, Unit 3 of 1×140 MW and Unit 4 of 1×210 MW capacity; all the units stand retired.
