Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation has shipped the VVER-1000 reactor vessel for Unit 6 of the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant (KKNPP) Project in Tamil Nadu. A set of four steam generators for Unit 6 is scheduled for shipment in 2025.
The Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) is developing the plant in Tirunelveli district. Kudankulam’s total installed capacity is projected at 6,000 MW, comprising six reactors of 1,000 MW each. Units 1 and 2 are operational, while Units 3 to 6 are under construction.
