The Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) has unveiled an investment plan to enhance power infrastructure in Jharkhand.
DVC Chairman S. Suresh Kumar announced the construction of 11 kV power infrastructure in 25 locations across the state, including 12 new e-House substations. The project aims to improve power distribution reliability, support regional growth, and provide affordable, high-quality energy to small industries.
The first 33/11 kV e-House substation, inaugurated in Kandra, Dhanbad, uses advanced gas insulated switchgear (GIS) technology. Its modular design ensures faster installation, improved safety, and better space utilization.
In addition, DVC plans to establish centralized control rooms in Kalyaneshwari and Koderma for unmanned, centralized monitoring of substations, which will boost operational efficiency. DVC is also modernizing power distribution by adopting advanced technologies like Ring Main Units (RMU), underground cabling, advanced distribution management systems (ADMS), and meter data management systems (MDMS).
