Surana Technologies Private Limited, a subsidiary of Surana Solar Limited, has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for 25 years.
The agreement covers the development of 54 MW decentralized solar power projects under the “Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana (MSKVY) 2.0” scheme in Maharashtra.
In September 2024, Surana Solar received a Letter of Award (LoA) worth Rs 1.89 billion from MSEDCL for these projects. The work involves design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and 25 years of operation and maintenance for solar power plants at various substations and agricultural feeders in the state. The power generated will be procured by MSEDCL at a tariff of Rs 2.99 per kWh.
The project is expected to be completed within 12 months, contributing to the Government of Maharashtra’s goal of solarizing 30% of agricultural feeders and installing 7,000 MW of solar power by 2025.
