CWP Global to develop 600 MW green hydrogen project in Angola

CWP Global has teamed up with Angola’s state-owned Sonangol and German engineering firms Conjuncta and Gauff to develop a 600 MW green hydrogen project in Angola. The project aims to produce green ammonia, with the first phase targeting 400,000 tonnes annually and plans for future expansion.

Leveraging existing infrastructure, including power generation, ports, and grid systems, the project will primarily focus on exporting green ammonia, positioning Angola as a significant player in the global green energy market.

Earlier this year, CWP signed an MoU with the Corner Brook Port Corporation in Canada to explore a green hydrogen hub powered by up to 5 GW of wind energy, supporting the environmental goals of Newfoundland and Labrador.
